What breed is my pup!

Hello, i have a 3 year old male dog. I was told he was a german shepherd australian shepherd mix but was recently asked if je may be belgian malinois australian shepherd instead. Theres a picture of him as a puppy and one of him a few weeks ago. Hes like an orangy brown color dark around his brown eyes and a bit on the top of his nose. Hes also got a greyish with black splotches underneath his chin. Hes not dog friendly but warms up to people easily. Lots of energy. Weights about 85 lbs. Let me know what you think!

Hmm idk about that one, he doesnt have that distinctive backwarfs strip of fur and his hears stand up rather than lay flat. Heres a couple more pics! And his tail curves up and over so the tip is basically touching his back

The puppy looks like an aussie mix but he looks so different as an adult! I see more German Shepherd than Malinois- his face is broader and his ears are big. I think a lot of people fall into the trap of trying to identify dogs by their color, so that's where Malinois might come from. People think that German Shepherds need to be tan with a black saddle. I'm not sure what else he could be but he's very pretty. Maybe some sort of spitz since he has the curly tail- chow chow, husky, akita, etc.

Fyi, the ridge on a Rhodesian ridgeback is a recessive trait and even the purebred Rhodesian ridgebacks don't always have one.

I agree if you hadn't of told me I would have thought those were two different dogs.
As revolutionrocknroll said, I also see more german shepherd dog.

I know the only similarities between his puppy self and adult self is the underneath side of his muzzle lol. But thanks for everyone's opinions
