I've read about India being like the world's capital of rabies, particularly among dogs and humans, so I would assume that Pakistan has a high incidence of it too (because of proximity). Maybe if rabies vaccines are available where your uncle lives, you may want to tell him about it?

I'm glad this little one has found a home. It's probably a true mix if strays are common.
It would better to find a dog that will suit your lifestyle than try to get a dog with a similar look. I'd imagine you could find a cat friendly dog in a rescue if you don't have the time to devote to caring for a puppy.
