http://www.adoptapet.com/pet7113669.html A rescue has this dog listed as a “Plott Hound Mix”. To my admittedly untrained eye, it looks like a brindle pit bull to me. Also, from what I understand, plott hounds are somewhat rare, especially to the Chicago area in which I live.
I am looking to adopt a dog and I have nothing against pitties, but I am currently renting a house and the owner said no dice on pitbulls.
i've never seen a plott hound in person but looks like it could be a plott mix to me.. unfortunately most brindle dogs get mistaken for pitbulls (unfortunately meaning, unfortunately peoples general assumptions of pitbulls is so negative and its unfortunate that most brindle dogs get lumped into the same category and are treated with the same resentment) its up to your landlord on whether or not he thinks its a pitbull mix or not.. just because of how most people feel about pitbulls and certain breed specific legislation laws i wouldnt call him a pitbull if you do adopt him.. only a dna test could prove if he is plott hound or not and it takes a few weeks to get results..
