Plott Hound or Brindle Pit Bull?

http://www.adoptapet.com/pet7113669.html
A rescue has this dog listed as a “Plott Hound Mix”. To my admittedly untrained eye, it looks like a brindle pit bull to me. Also, from what I understand, plott hounds are somewhat rare, especially to the Chicago area in which I live.

I am looking to adopt a dog and I have nothing against pitties, but I am currently renting a house and the owner said no dice on pitbulls.

looks like a pit bull mix to me. If you think it looks like a pit bull it would probably be hard to convince the landlord otherwise if he feels that strongly.

i've never seen a plott hound in person but looks like it could be a plott mix to me.. unfortunately most brindle dogs get mistaken for pitbulls (unfortunately meaning, unfortunately peoples general assumptions of pitbulls is so negative and its unfortunate that most brindle dogs get lumped into the same category and are treated with the same resentment) its up to your landlord on whether or not he thinks its a pitbull mix or not.. just because of how most people feel about pitbulls and certain breed specific legislation laws i wouldnt call him a pitbull if you do adopt him.. only a dna test could prove if he is plott hound or not and it takes a few weeks to get results..

Does look like a Pit mix wouldn't risk it with your landlord.

The last Pit I had shipped to me (Denver airport) was shipped as a Plott Hound.

She's cute....doubt you'd be able to tell for sure till she got older, Plotts are VERY hound-like in build, which I have to admit I'm not seeing in her, but that could just be her age.

The head shape is nothing hound-like at all. She does look to be a PB to me. Pretty girl.

To get PBs adopted in California, they will call them almost anything. In nothern Cal., they call them 'St. Francis Terriers'.
