Stef I know what you are talking about with the deaf/hard of hearing helper!! I saw this on tv, a small black dog trained to let hard of hearing or deaf owners know when the phone rings. This is very true, I forgot about that. I can see small dogs being what I think they call "alert" dogs, most definitely. Hunting not so much I hope I can find that news broadcast and post it because it was interesting.

This is what we meant by an example of a small dog doing work other than therapy.

Really really intresting facts...! Nothing to add ... just that I always thought that poodles are the "froufrou" dog ... until we got one from hunting lines and we use her in hunting seasons with our JRT. A working dog indeed...absolutely amazing dogs! I used to think that the best all-around working dog is the Malinois but I was surprised of what a poodle can do....Liza (our poodle) can even work as herding dog side by side with Rotties and Malinois and GSDs...! It was a good surprise for me.
