Wink Mixed breed dog, what to pay attention to?

Hello everyone,

i have a 9 week old puppy, whos mom was a french mastiff/american bulldog mix and his dad was a boxer-malinois mix. Does anyone know on what i should keep my eye on when training him.

He already knows how to sit and knows what no means. laying down he doesnt get yet but i have good faith and patience.

I think that looking into each breed and their qualities, characteristics, and histories would be a good way to understand your puppy. It might be a long read for you but well worth it! I have a 4 yr old mixed breed myself. His mother was 1/2 Pitbull and 1/2 Rottweiler and his father was 3/4 American Bulldog and 1/4 Mastiff. I found that by reading about each breed I was able to identify more with my boy and it was also very interesting to watch him grow. There were times when I could see the different breeds traits come out in him!

I don't think there is anything specific to "watch out" for but it does help to be able to identify with your dog. Reading about each breed will let you know if he might have a stubborn streak, or how intelligent or quick learning he can be.

Good luck with your puppy!!

I ditto-what specifically are you asking?

And ditto-I`d keep my eye on behavioral problems for any breed. My dog via looks is herding breed but absolutely has no herding instincts and is a hunter-so breed alone imho does not predict behaivor. With his breeding (by guessing by looks) I should be watching him herding my rabbits and the neighbors kids-instead I have to get him to drop ducks and recall when chasing moose-not something you`d predict by breed

So just keep an eye for any bad behavior and treat it exclusive of breed IMHO
