Wow, that is the first for me in seeing that kind of coat for a poodle.

I know. It was actually the original coat type for poodles, because of the type of work they did. But as people started showing them they bred them for looks instead of purpose. This type is still condsidered a coat variation for the AKC, UKC and FCI poodle standards.
