in no particular order:
chihuahuas - snappy i dont like their attiude and ive delt with too may spoiled brat ones at work with owners who praise them for growling and snapping at me
dachshunds- the will bite you in a heartbeat, dont want to deal with the back problems
cocker spaniels- the pee EVERYWHERE
Shit-Tzu- they crap EVERYWHERE anytime they get nervous and i dont want to constantly worry about my dogs eyeballs popping out
chow- this should be self explanatory, too untrusting and they make me nervous
anything hairy- wayyy too much work

There's no dog I wouldn't get-especially because of breed. I definitely love all dogs.

That being said-based on 'looks' only-I would steer clear of dogs with droopy eyes (I know it appeals, just not to me) and curly hair. So poodles and st. bernard etc. And I definitely prefer BIG dogs over small (lol -my dog is 14" high lol) but small are still in the running. Yeah I am pretty indescriminate lol

The only smooshed face I would own is a cavalier. Would NEVER own an English bulldog.
Wouldn't own most hounds- no scent hounds especially but I'd consider some sighthounds like a borzoi.
Not a fan of most terriers.
The only poodle I'd own is a standard.

Hrm...

In seriousness on this thread...

I dunno. I don't particularly like the looks of fox-terriers and have never wanted one. I think I was bit as a really young kid by one of my uncles =X

Beyond that, I just can't say "never". A bit under two years ago when Camille and I started searching for dogs I'd have said I'd "never" have a Chihuahua. Camille would have said he'd never have an English Bulldog. His last dog was a Chihuahua and so he was set on that breed being our dog. I'd never met an English Bulldog that wasn't friendly, fun, funny and awesome and so I wanted one badly. Opening our minds a bit to different breeds, we wound up with a Basset Hound. =P

Lately we've been talking about getting another dog when Willow turns around two (I guess it takes us two years to research, prepare for, find and eventually get a dog XD). I've managed to convince him that English Bulldogs are awesome and it's all he wants; he literally sits at home some days just looking at pictures of, reading up on, and wishing for one. Meanwhile, I want a Chihuahua like nothing else 'cause of their high trainability and energy levels. We'll probably wind up with a Borzoi.

Well, I guess that means you aren't going to move in then.

hmm... i'm not fond of smooshy faced breeds as a general rule... and i don't really want an extremely "drivey" breed like a malinois... too much dog for me to want to deal with on a regular basis... that said, if a dog needs me, and i am able to help it, i don't think i would worry too much about the breed or the size of the dog... tho i do tend to stay away from the smaller guys but that is more because of the risk of them becoming a part of the local food chain...

My neighbor has two daschunds... Sometimes I want to strangle them, they bark so bloody much!!! Honestly, I've never seen dogs bark that much. We live in a 6 condo block, and everytime anyone steps outside, there's a bark orchestra. I'm happy my Tzu doesn't bark! Well, he does, but only when the cat doesn't want to play anymore, not when any type of shadow passes the windows...
