| I don't want a big dog, because as much as I love them all, I just don't have the space for it. There are a few breeds I wouldn't get anyway though... It's mostly based on personal experience. I'm not saying any of those would not make wonderful dogs, I know they do with the right care and training...
First: Chow Chow. When I worked in vet clinics, it's the only type of dog who ever came close to make it away with part of my arm. I've always been able to calm dogs (even rescues that had been tied up most of their lives) but I learned not to trust a Chow, even if it looked calm... I've been a bit scared of them since. I know a vet clinic doesn't bring the best in some dogs but that breed really left a mark on my psyche.
Second: Sharpeis. All the ones I've seen had skin problems and numerous other health problems and most stank terribly.
Third, fourth and fifth: Boxers, Dalmatians and Jack Russells. They are adorable, but OMG calm down already!! While I've seen some really great individuals, I've seen many who were just batshit crazy. I wouldn't want to risk ending up with one of the crazy ones and trying to train it. That mostly applies to the Boxers and Dalmatians though. Jack's are brilliant little dogs, but tend to be a tad overexcited for my taste...
Sixth: Mini Schnauzers: Sweethearts, but do they ever stop barking?
That's pretty much it. Oh, I would want a breed that slobers... |

| I don't want any small breeds only because I love large dogs. I enjoy being quite active with them as well as wrestling around with my Doberman. It'd be much easier to hurt a small breed than it would a large one. Plus, smaller breeds tend to be more aggressive and annoying.(Most of the ones I've come across anyway.) |

| I can't see myself owning any brachycephalic (I think I spelled that wrong, sorry) breeds, mostly since I'm not fond of the look nor the gas that most have...
I'll never own a Jack Russell Terrier. I had a horrible experience with one as a child, plus they're very VERY hyper.
I'm alright with big dogs, but I can't see my owning a great dane. I wouldn't be the right owner for one. |

| Um, this is going to sound stupid considering I have two Lhasas--- I would not choose to get a Shih tzu. Very similar to Lhasas, I know, but I just don't like their squished noses, I always look at them and just want to pull their noses out a bit farther. The same goes for Pugs and other squished face breeds, even though they look cute.
I can't say there are any breeds I wouldn't own based on temperament, I work at a Humane Society and have met all kinds of dogs of the same breed with vastly different temperaments. However, the most common bite-case breed we get in are Beagles. |

| I love my big squishy faces...lol
I'm know they're not for everyone but in many ways, I'm glad they aren't as popular as some other breeds.
hmm I really cant think of a dog that I wouldn't own, based on their breed alone.
There are probably many I would like to own but shouldn't though
because although I'm a fairly active person, I don't have what it takes to
keep a super high energy dog happy in the long term. (herding types and mushers)
I'm not fond of corded coats either so I guess something like a Puli wouldn't be a good choice for me |

| MinPins: Because the ones my Ex had drove me absolutely bonkers. Poodles: They scare me when they are trimmed up like a shrub. Chinese Crested: I will not allow anything in my house that can scare children better than I can. |

| I wouldnt own ATON of breeders.
Labs, -to happy go lucky
golden retrivers.- same as above
Pugs.- I dont find them nice looking at all.
english bull dogs.- pretty much same as above
99% of hounds- just need a dog that is much more reliable offleash
"pitbull"- need a dog I do not have to worry about dog agression with.
boxer- dont like their look
99% of small dogs.- majority do nothing for me looks wise or athletic wise.
Probably easier for me to say, I would stick with owning GSD's. rough collies and toy poodles.
Witht he possibility of a lhaso, rotti, dobie, pom, great dane.
Anything else, I doubt Iwant to own for one reason or another. |

I think that, even though it might be closer to the standard of the breed, it makes them mighty ugly! People always ask what breed Boris is and when I say Shih Tzu everyone goes "But... He's so cute!?" I like them bigger boned, with nice round heads, longer noses and large eyes...
Example: Mighty ugly squished nosed Tzu :
Pretty Boris with his large button nose:
Of course, I am totally biased...
