Default bull terrier?

Hi, so im thinking of getting another dog as a companion for cooper, my husband would love a miniture bull terrior but i have never dealt with that kind of breed (im the one who stays with the dog/trains/and whatnot) my auntie who runs kennels has told me that the bull terrier can be very aggressive, i know that with training he/she wouldn't be aggressive however are they as unpredictable as a pitbull or rottie? im just a bit nervous because i have 2little boys between 4 and 6years. my husband would like this breed as more of a gaurd dog for our cars at night, what do'u think?

Well as far as I know both pitbulls and rotties love kids...of course many things are a matter of training.

Here some info about bull terrier YouTube - Breed All About It - Bull Terrier

If you want a dog to bark to inform you I don't think that these breeds are barkers tho.

hey thanks for this its eased my worries about having this breed around my little ones, i was just a little concerned because of someonme telling me 'oh they're like pitbulls once they bite they dont let go' and i dont mean to dis rotties or pitbulls, actually i'd love a rottie as would my hubbie but we dont have the space. here in ireland illegal dogfights have become all too common and i have seen alot of this through our media and i suppose it has opened my eyes to aggression in dogs that i have never thought a dog cappable of u know. i do know that those kind of things are the owners doing and in absolutly no way the dogs fault but i suppose i am being led into the cautiousness that a lot of irish people have towards certain breeds. actually here in ireland it has become almost like a lower class thing to do to have a pitbull or rottie, thats not my own opinion but, our media has turned a lot of people against certain dogs because of idiots who train and torture their dogs into illegal fights. anyway sorry for the rant but im sure u know what im trying to say.

Well any of these breeds (Rottweilers Pittbulls) are not what most people think! In fact Pittbulls especially LOVE humans! And Rotties (I know more about them in fact) are laid-back dogs. That means they wait to see the situation before they act.
Here about Rotties YouTube - Breed All About It - Rottweiler

"pitbulls once they bite they don't let go" In fact that's a myth! It is about training. If pitbull's jaws was supposed to "lock on" as they say they wouldn't be canine. Here is a good mythbuster video about pits YouTube - Pit Bull 101 Myths and Facts

i wish more people would educate themselves about these breeds, having seen these videos it has really opened my eyes to the fact that we really shouldnt judge any dog before getting to know its personality, its really the same as judging someone by the colour of their skin isn't it? ive been looking all morning now for a miniature bull terrier for sale here in ireland but they are not common at all here so i cant find one as of yet, so far ive found the normal sized one in the colour and with all the papers that i want but my husband is set on the miniature! i really would love to find the specific one that i want thats miniature, female and white. anyway i think its gonna be a bit of a waiting game to get the one i want. but i suppose its better to wait than to rush into the wrong thing. ROLL ON THE SEARCH

I ran into a lady with 2 bull terriers at the dog store the other day!

Those dogs were just beautiful! And lookers too! Everyone was staring!

They were SO sweet too! They attached me with kisses and slobber! haha

both were the standard size too.

I love the look and personality of a bull terrier!
Just be sure to either adopt a dog with a known temperament or to get a pup from a line free of dog aggression!
Personally I rarely worry about any bully breeds being human aggressive. But I am cautious because many can be aggressive to dogs and other animals.

Best of luck finding your new furry friend! And when you find him or her don't for get to share lots of photos!

If you think a rotie or pitbull is agressive, stay away from the bully breeds. As you just wont beable to trust your own dog. Bully breeds are no more unpredictable and agressive as your commom lab. And no I own neither a bully or rottie. Just cant stand hearing people talking poorly ofthem.
