Exclamation Cat VS puppy round one....HELP! Serious puppy mistake!

First day home with my puppy and I already probably established a fear imprint! I feel like such a bad dog owner!

I have 4 cats (as my usernames says- I made it specifically to seek help for this)

My 8 week old puppy walked up to the biggest meanest cat we have (who has always hated dogs) earlier, and I wasn't fast enough to pull him away before my cat swatted at him and hissed.

It was very traumatizing. He started whining really really loudly, and flopped onto his back and ugh. It was bad.

Please, please help. None of my cats really feel comfortable around dogs, but I don't think any of the others will try to attack him except this one horrible cat (personally I hate this cat, but it's my moms)

So should I just reintroduce him to the nice cats ASAP? How do I help him recover?

Not sure what you are asking...are you afriad hes going to be terrified of cats now?

do the cats have a "dogless" room? A room with a baby gate or som'thing so they can get away? Do you have cat trees?

Not sure getting a dog was the best idea

Sooo put 'soft claws' on the cat. They can't hurt the dog with no claws Alternatives to Declawing, Nail Caps for Cats their easy to put on-I'm not a cat person at all and I got them on a kitten no prob.

Next-your going to have to work to get them all to get along-I'd give both the cats and the dog stuffed animals who smell like the other (Get something that smells like the cats-and give it to the dog, and vice versa ) so they get used to each other

Keep us posted!!!

I almost forgot-if your going to tell me your mean cat will not allow you to put 'soft claws' on-get your vet to do it It's easy, cheap
