Dog breed comparison

A question for BC, Aussie, Kelpie, Koolie, English Shepherd, ACD, Basque Shepherd, Collie (smooth), Lapponian herder, Mc Nab, Pyrenean Shepherd, Welsh Sheepdog, Nova Scotia Duck Tooling Retriever, Berger Blanc Suisse, Tamaskan, Belgian Malinois, Dutch Shepherd, Cierny Sery and Labrador (field bred) owners.

Just wondering what it is like to have these breeds (or any that are a lot alike, like GSD, East European Shepherd...) and what their temperament is like.

No, I am not planning to get any of these breeds in the near future (I am only 14 yrs old, and my dad barely let me get a dog, a havanese which I love, but to be honest I would prefer a breed that is more energetic and is bigger. He (my dad) was 100% sure he didn't want a dog that we were "fostering" (long story, I can explain some other time). She was a 3 month old puppy, probably going to be the size of a big lab, and she stayed at our house for only about 20 days-until we found a new home).

I don't blame you if you don't read the whole post and thanks for all the input on these breeds.

(I hope I didn't make too many spelling mistaces)

I have a Great Pyrenese mix They are great dogs, but they do like to bark at anything since they are guardians of other animals

Hi Pantalanomin

I'm a great lover of the giant breeds, they have wonderful temperaments. I have a Karakachan (Bulgarian shepherd) who was persona non grata around here when he was first on the loose, but since we took him in he's become a great favorite with our neighbors. He's very old and fits in pretty well in our small house, but bear in mind that a young one would need space and a lot of exercise.

As you are so young the dream of getting a dog may be a long way off, but you have time to think about what breed is right for you, and you are sensible to be checking them out now.
