He's gorgeous! It's hard to believe that people would just throw their pets away because they're blind, or deaf. I mean, you wouldn't put your baby up for adoption if it was blind or deaf would you? People have different views, but I can't understand.
Heh, and 90% of birth defects are the result of bad breeding.

Leroy can come live here. what a adorable guy. We had a blind poodle (same colour. Different sex) growing up.
She was blind for about 8 years Until we had to PTS at age 13.
I dont get how any one could just toss a blind/deaf/handicaped dog they have had for years. The thought never crossed my families mind when CJ became blind.

i just browsed thru the site... i think i might be in love with tuzik... he just looks so, i dunno... stoic, and soft at the same time.... but i'd have to move into a house that was way more accessible....

i can't really believe that someone would give up their dog when they find out they need them the most like that either i mean, i know that they don't have the same hang-ups about this stuff as humans, but that doesn't mean that adjusting to the big of a change in your world is easy...tho often deaf dogs are mistaken for having really bad behavior problems...

Heck I was relieved to find out Tippy was mostly deaf. I was begining to wonder if she was dumb, or if my training needed work!

I have been looking at wheelchairs again for the two cripples...I keep putting it off...but I need to do it.

they do make those rear end harnesses with an attached leash, i don't know if they would work for a little guy, but they might be something to look into in the interim...

here's a pic if you've never seen them:

i've really only seen them for bigger dogs, but i think that is only bc people would opt to carry a little dog, i bought one for a friend with an older dog that has nerve degeneration.... it is pretty simply looking and you could probably make something that would fit a little guy if you couldn't find a small one to fit them...

yeah, the idea is to be able to rollerblade with Tippy LOL...she can run faster than me...but after a block she gets scraped up from falling...she can run and fall and keep going faster than I can run. Critter can run as fast as I can jog, but her knee kills her after about 30 seconds...

I've seen those sling things...I don't know if they'll do what i want tho...hmmm

might be something that is cheap to try out tho... i mean it is two loops at the end of a leash, with some padding to prevent rubbing... if the dogs are slightly ahead of you they work better, and it may help them to get used to the wheel chair if/when you get that...

Hmmm wheelchairs?

I personally think the more 'special' the pet-the more special the pet I do love them.

This is the Tippy I wanted when I found Chuck

Crio-the wheelchairs wouldn't be permanent right? Sounds like you'd be using them for running?
