Stray Rescue of St. Louis

Saw a program on Nat Geo (not much to do in Ohio...as much as I hate TV, I've been watching a lot...) that I thought I'd share some info on. Was a pretty cool story about Randy Grim - who founded the Stray Rescue of St. Louis. Here's the website - started it by himself, recently grown into a HUGE rescue organization...

I'm sure there's a LOT more examples just like this out there, but this is the one that was brought to MY attention, there was a pretty poignant piece in the show about his work.

He's also written a few books, you can find them on his website. Haven't read them yet, but probably will pretty soon.

Anybody heard of this guy, or any more about what he's done?

omg, when I saw that segment on that guy I was in tears and VERY impressed with all hes accomplished...I hope he gets alot more help from the exposure on the show...

but yeah, amazing, absolutely amazing. They said he rescues som'thing like 2,000 dogs a year IIRC

edit: Wow their vet bill budget was 800,000

Yeah - in the segment I saw, there was a case that passed before he could get it to a vet, and you could tell how much he takes each case to heart - he broke down right then and there, blaming himself for not doing more...

The piece that REALLY struck me was that he's still SO ground-floor involved in a lot of the rescues and the day-to-day operations...he does it for the dogs...
