Is it puppy season?

Well I've heard of cat season before, but not puppy season. I keep in touch with my local shelter, PAWS, incase they need any supplies that I can give, and I noticed that over the past summer, no puppies. Maybe one that was 6 months old, but no puppy-puppies. Well now its turning cold around here, and there are four different litters of puppies up for adoption. Im just wondering, is it puppy season?
Is anyone else's shelter being boomed with puppies?

Its not puppy season but moron season. The economy is so bad and people who breed are realizing they are having a more difficult time selling their litters. That and more and more dogs are not being fixed (due to not having the money they say) and "accidental" pregnancies are occurring more it seems.

Sorry that was somewhat of a vent LOL

Yeah I know how you feel. The people down the street have a blue heeler mix, and she had three litters in the past 2 years. Her puppies are inbreeding with eachother, well were, but the animal shelter came and took most of them. They shouldnt of even let her keep one, yet they let her keep two females. Its just going to happen all over again. But this happens year-round.
Im just curious if anyone else's shelter is booming with puppies when it turns cold lol.

I have never heard of a puppy season..but Iam positive it exists....when I go to the shelter there are either no puppies at all...or friggin' HOARDS of them. Last time I went (several months ago) there were four or so litters plus strays.

I agree its moron season...BYBs take a litter or two to finally realize that their dogs aren't selling anymore...especially larger breeds.

Moron season-truly

*sigh* i abhor accidental litters (hello-fixed pets do not have babies....) and I know I'm going to be fawning over a litter soon. A "Friend" of mine at work, her hubby just adopted a male dog-they have an unfixed female. I'm shoving, pushing and crying but doubt my fuss will forstall the obviouis...

Everyone I meet feeds me that line. Im like seriously, quit trying to make it ok, its not ok, and you know it or else you wouldn't try to rationalize it.
