He is SOOO handsome!!!
Ok so I talked to the shelter staff today. He's temporarily unavailable-injury to his leg-so he's getting thoroughly checked out (I LOVE That-I adopted Rupert -my bunny, told he had a break but had had an xray...only to find out they hadn't even vet checked him-so I had about 600$ in vet bills-yeah I know shelters aren't made of money, but they had a vet on staff and had told me he'd been checked) so I LOVE that they are cautious.
He's being fostered by a behaviorist (a real one

inside dogforum joke-for those who know

heheeh) and she's done great work with him. His 'quirks' sound total opposite of Mikey-he can be pushy, resource guard and can mouth when he gets excited.
So that-makes me happy. I don't think bringing a dog with anxiety into the mix is a good idea. Although Mikey is 250 million percent better then when we brough him home and has gotten over so many things with positive training-he still has issues with the car (maybe over excitement) and I wouldn't want them to 'feed each other' and become really anxious.
Resource guarding is easy, and he sounds a bit 'huskish' to me-that he can be pushy and needs the right rules.
She said seeing him with his foster mom (the behaviorist) he'll look like the perfect model dog-but we'd need to follow through of course
THe condition of adoption is spending six hours with the behaviorsit-that sounds AWESOME. They are close to three hours away so we'd work out how that would work.
I sent in my application, but we chatted and said we sounded great. I let her know that I'm really interested but of course it would depend on what Dave and Mikey think of Chuck.
So hopefully I can get down there and meet him soon, and then drag Dave down to get him 'in love' -and hopefully Mikey likes him too!!!
Not set in stone by ANY means, but boy am I excited-and gawd is he CUTE!!!
