Talking My puppy's first day

Hello there!

This is my first post here. My fiance and I just adopted our first puppy yesterday! We are unsure what exactly he is but he was rescued from West Virginia and is a non-shedding large dog. We are guessing there may be some Wirehaired Pointing Griffon in him because that is what many dogs in that area are.

He is 12 weeks old at best guess and just wonderful! He has taken very well to crate training which was surprising because he was kenneled with many other puppies and free fed until this point. He also has yet to make an accident in the house.

We have started training with baby steps--first learning his name which is Dozer. His disposition is amazing! He is sweet, laid back, mellow, brave, and I could go on and on.

He is having a tiny bit of trouble adjusting to being without other puppies/dogs. He walks around whining a bit, but seems to be getting out of that slowly. I have other dogs in the family that he will meet soon and get many many playdates with, so I hope that makes him feel better also. He did not have any interest in toys for the first night and today, but this evening seems to be getting more curious about the squeeky soft things. I will post pictures very soon, but wanted to introduce Dozer and jump into this community!

He is SO cute. It will be fun trying to figure out what his lineage is when he gets older. Sounds like he is adjusting just fine.
