I've been doing that for 5 years now. I've almost been grounded more than I can count. shes starting to get peeved with me. I guess its time to bug my dad. some how I doubt that will work. he always says "go ask your mom" *sigh*

Awww I know how it is-I still want my pony Parents hey? *eyeroll*

Maybe they'll let you foster-to get their feet wet? Or pet sit?
We're pulling for you

Oh and this totally depends on your relationship with your parents and how old you are and stuff; but if your mom did/said something to make you think she was going to say yes to this dog-I'd call her on it. (But that's my family dynamic not yours-so use your sense)

I would say "you know mom? That was really disappointing. You said you would consider the dog, and the way you said it made me think you were finally going to allow me a dog. And when you went back on your word, it was upsetting and disappointing. So whether you are going to allow me a dog in the future or not-could you at LEAST be honest with me?"

I think that way your not attacking but talking about your feelings and really making her think. Like I said-may not be appropriate to your situation thou

that wouldnt go well with my family. My mom is now saying that I can get him when we move to our new house. I'm 17 years old and we still havent even sold the house we got now. even if we did sell the house it would be august before we even think about moving. I'm still working on convincing her. I do have a dog right now but he is 10 and all he does is eat sleep and poop. I still love him and nothing will ever replace him but I want to through a toy and not have it smack him in the face.

no problem...i know it's tough... but better to wait until your parents are truly into the idea anyway... it could turn into a nightmare to get him and then have them be "put out" by having him and complaining about him and stuff... how horrible would that be to get him and then have the people around you be annoyed with him? (not that he's annoying, but you know how much energy dogs have!) be patient.... i had to wait a long time to get my dog, and i know it is easy for me to say as i have him, but it was really worth the wait...

That's so true Fawkese-good advice

I'm still trying to figure out how to get a pony ( I can technically afford one) without my parents killing me-and I'm 27 so yeah...it's tough

Daves parents got him a pup when he was 6. Then got rid of it a few weeks later becuase he wasn't taking care of it. (Not fair) and this is his very first bona fide dog. He had to wait. But he is SO happy and I can tell you-knowing him for four years-well he's just surprising me all the time with the dog. My point-it's worth waiting for

Well I convinced my dad. I'm daddy's little girl it doesnt take much. so I still need to get my mom on bord the doggy train. The only thing with my dad is that he thinks I should get harker not treble.

Adopt a Chow Chow: Harker: Petfinder

what do you think?

my vote is still with treble... tho i think harker is adorable, there is just something about him... and since he is a bit older, you'll already have a better idea of is personality...

yay! btw.... when will you know for sure?
