I know what you mean Crio -that's a fear of mine too. Luckily he's not a pb and most people don't want one. But stealing too is scary-Huskies are often stolen here. I met a guy who had his dog stolen but saw the guy take him so he followed him home and called the police. My friend had her cocker stolen two years ago too.
As I said-my silly looking mutt is likely not at risk but he does not go outside unsupervised I'm way too scared of that.

Oh man I hope they find her. Several years ago I had a cocker spaniel that was stolen out of my yard to. I never let him outside by his self but my ex mother in law was living with me and my ex husband and she had put him out to vaccum and clean the house she never thought about anyone takeing him but they did. They even took his collar off and hung it on the fence so I know he just did not exscape. I called the police and animal control but they were useless.

Oh man how funny life is! I went to the dog park last night for Mikey's b-day and his collar must have been loose-so he ran up to his friends and slid to a stop and his collar flew off. [I can't find a break-away collar so we do keep it loose so that if he does get hung up on something when we aren't home, he can slip out of it]

I was a way away so they picked up his collar and were commenting on how many tags he has-and then were talking about stolen dogs. So they saw his one tag "Reward for return, Needs medication daily' and they were 'oohhhh what's wrong with him?' heheh nothing-but if someone finds him they'll think they can either make money returning him or spend it with his 'daily meds' lol Anyways their all gettings tags that say that-and I totally recommend it
